a lesson

That was the first time(and the last) I was leading a group on a small trek. And now if I look back I feel so scared. Anything could have happened!! I was totally not prepared. None of them had brought water as much as I had instructed. I did not carry first aid. No packed food!!! We started out late…. Wow!!! So many things that I should have avoided. Luckily we returned happily!!

Well this write up is not mainly about that trek, but it is about something which I felt worth learning from that trek(this can be learnt from all treks).

None of us were experts in trek. 2 of my friends had never been on a trek and probably never walked for a long distance too. It getting very sunny. Before reaching midway one of my friend was exhausted. Another was like “where have you brought us? I don’t see anyone around. There are not arrow marks. You should have hired a guide.”. all I could say was “dude we have to get to the top of the hill and there s only one path, which we currently are following. don’t worry we ll reach the top. We ll not get lost.”

Within some time they lost hopes “we are never going to make it. Lets return before we get further lost and exhausted.”

I didn’t want to leave without reaching the peak. And so they said “ok we ll go till that point and if we do not see the peak we are returning”

That’s when we saw the peak…

Many times in life it so happens that we try hard for something to happen and lose hope when we are inches away from what we waned to happen. All that is required bit of patience and that final push even when you have lost hope…
