standard of living has increased for many of us and for the rest it is the cost of 'basic-expenditure' that has increased.
people are ready to spend money to get the comforts they need.
probably if he who wore only a hand woven dhoti and fasted some days thinking 'if i fast my fellow citizen could eat my part of rice' would die of heart attack looking at the rate at which his descendants spend money.
i was at my aunt s place. her neighbors were having a grand deepawali. i saw one of them opening a box. just a small spark was enough to wake up the sleeping dragon inside that box. the sky was filled with colors. rockets of all kinds were shot from that box. the show might have lasted for about 1 or 2 min. what a show it was.
later i came to know that the box had coasted 5k. 5k for 1 or 2 min!!! probably that s annual expenditure(and in many cases income) of an average working man in India.
agreed that happiness is nothing compared to money spent. i would really spend anything if it is to make my parent happy. but really!!! 5k for just 2 min show!!! that s when i began to think...
do we really value money?
as rightly pointed by a friend of mine we can not learn to value something until we have a lot of...

first thing is u cant question everything.. i agree u shd ponder.. but also let things be at times.. your question is if u shd spend so much money for 2 mins pleasure.. if u think u can make a world of a diff by not spending it on crackers but by donatin it some place then yes, go ahead n do it.. in my opinion, thr ll always be problems in this world.. me not havin fun also may lead to a problem some day.. so go out n have fun.. not if its at the expense of others though
well my question is not exactly if it is worth spending so much money for 2 min pleasure...
this was only an example.
my question is do we know the value of money?
when i was in school it used to be like "oh cost of my shirt was rs 300!! too much"
now "oh it s only 1000bucks"...
i dont know how to say...
i spend what i earn and not someone else's but still... when you think of those school days do you not feel that we are forgetting the value of money?
yes quacky.. i second ur thought...
1) i strongly feel that by bursting crackers, we are not doing anything more than causing harm to all the fellow inhabitants of this planet! it's not just a waste of money for our parents; we also need to remember that - in the process of 'having fun' by 'bursting crackers', we'd be spoiling our very own environment in which we and our future generations have to live... we'd just be causing harm to all the birds, animals n plants by bursting crackers, n nothing else! so, as Ms.Sindhu as said, 'having fun, being happy, spending money even for a 2 min pleasure' are all fine & shdnt be questioned only as long as we are not 'bursting crackers and burning money', but doing the same in a sane way...
2) u'll know the value of anything only either when u're in need of it or u're extremely thoughtful (as u've been now)... not while u're possessing it in abundance & being careless.. :) so.....
a. u need not worry abt urself.. u know the value of money..
b. don't worry abt others.. they're just incorrigible.. :)
he he he....
typical point to point comment Mr Bherunda
thank you :-)
